In Summer 2020 as the creative industries remained closed Tangled Feet commissioned a group of local, national and international artistic freelancers to make new solo work in lockdown. We called it Devolution Evolution - a devolving of creative power to our freelance family.

One year on, the creative industries started to re-open and in July 2021 we shared some of these new creative ideas, provocations and pieces of art as part of an Open House in the new Hat Works building and site specifically inside the Luton Town shop in The Mall which stood empty.

​

Responding to the theme of Catalyst: the moment of change art works will include sound installations, short films, video art, podcasts, recipes, performance, open rehearsals and a unique immersive projection space.

​

The 3 days in Luton were a unique insight into how theatre makers, designers, musicians, actors, directors, stage managers, performance artists all make work.

Devolution Evolution now exists as an ever growing community of 40+ freelancers who catch up regularly at digital meetings, continuing to share ideas and conversation, offering a creative and social space to stay engaged and connected with each other.
